Help us bring Bookjoy to every child and community.
All for Books™
Help us bring Bookjoy to every child and community.
Funding the future
Providing a platform for schools, parents, students, and communities to give back is as central to our mission as enabling every child to find a book they’ll love.
By hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, you’re earning Scholastic Dollars™ your school will use for years to come. But what about kids in your community who don’t have enough money to shop the Fair? What about schools in nearby communities—or halfway across the country—that lack the resources to support a Book Fair?
Our giving program, All for Books, empowers local heroes. From children to corporations, donors ensure that every kid in the community can experience the exhilarating fun of the Fair that we call Bookjoy.
Doing twice as much good
Every Book Fair is an opportunity to participate in the All for Books giving program.
Centered around a simple collection box at the Fair, All for Books turns small donations into a big difference in many lives, from the young shoppers discovering their love of giving to the underserved populations aided by their contributions.
Here's how it works
Think outside the (donation) box.
Check out some best practices for using the All for Books collection box that comes inside your Kick-off Kit. As always, we welcome you to create—and share—your own.
o
Give the collection box a prominent spot near your Payment System at the Fair so shoppers see it at checkout
o
Invite shoppers to round up their purchases during checkout.
o
Host a loose-change drive, a car wash, or another activity to rally your school community around All for Books.
Making real change
How can you make an impact with your donations? These are just some of the worthy ways to use your All for Books funds.
o
Buy books from the Fair for students who couldn’t purchase their own.
o
Provide books to the school library or individual classroom libraries.
o
Donate the funds to another school or a charitable organization focused on children’s literacy.
All for Books means books for all! Your students are still learning to love reading, but they already know that it’s better to read together.
